Never STOP praying

Copied this from "Girlfriends in God"......

Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to "never stop praying". But many times, we pray only as a last resort. I read about a kindergarten class that went to the fire station for a tour. The fireman was explaining what to do in case of a fire. "First go to the door and feel the door to see if it's hot. If it is hot, fall to your knees! Does anyone know why you should fall to your knees?" A little voice spoke up, "Yeah, to start praying and asking God to get us out of this mess!" How true!
The power to withstand temptation comes from a praying heart. The devil will do anything to keep us from praying! He laughs at our religious activities and mocks our human wisdom, but he trembles when we pray!

Howdy----it's been crazy-busy around here. Josh, my 14 year old has been in a football training camp 4 days a week. He trains at a facility in our community, working with a NFL player who plays for the Colts.
It's amazing how things are working out for my son. He enjoys football and is very excited about playing. The faciltity he works out at is made up of football players, mostly college, for example, Texas Tech, Texs A & M, and Baylor to name a few. He's been very excited to work out one on one with a professional player. I tell Josh, there is nothing wrong with this and we will support him 100% as long as he keeps his excitement on GOD, who will then bless him abundantly. This kid is amazing, he's an A student and is very dedicated. I thank GOD for every opportunity HE has blessed Josh with. I tell my son as long as he keeps GOD first in his life, then everything else will fall in place. I hope to share some pictures very soon of some of his training.

This is a MUST!

Abortion supporters have been trying to pass FOCA since 1989--and now we have a Congress more disposed than any in recent years to pass this bill, and a new President who has said he will sign this measure into law.

FOCA stands for: Freedom of Choice Act

Eliminate regulations that protect women from unsafe clinics and unscrupulous abortionists.

Force American taxpayers to fund abortions---WHAT!?!? Are you kidding me?!?!?

Force every state to allow partial -birth abortions--it's sponsors have said a primary purpose of the bill is to ensure that killing partially born children will again be permitted nationwide.

Run roughshod over the consience rights of physicians, nurses & hopsitals that oppose abortion on religious, moral or ethical grounds.

Strip parents of their right and responsibility to be involved in their minor daughter's abortion decision.

FOCA is without a doubt the most radical abortion legislation ever considered in the United States

Make a phone call and let President Obama know that we will not let this pass.

When I worked at United Healthcare many years ago, it was there when I learned that if you had insurance...all it cost for an abortion was a $10.00 copay.

When I found myself pregnant because of a choice I made, I knew that I had a BIG responsiblity to take care of and it wasn't to dispose of my daughter. It was to give her two parents that would bring JOY & HAPPINESS to not only their life BUT to her life. Isn't that what she deserved? Praising HIM that he allowed ME to give someone a child.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

...one of my FAVORITE words.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”- John 13:34-35

May you all have a BLESSED day.

Will you pray for Abby?

If you get a chance to stop by Abby's page, please do. This little girl is full of life and is just adorable. Her story is amazing and she is fighting one of the biggest fights a child should NEVER have to face.

Isn't this the cutest little boy?!? We need to lift these little children and pray and petition to GOD to grant these little ones their earthly healing.

The Tongue

I know right...what in the world could I be talking about now?!?

Don't know if I told you are not, but we've been going to a Topical Bible Study every Thursday evening. BOY! The things I'm learning. Well, last night we talked about our tongue & it started off by this....

There are seven natural openings in the head. They all come in pairs:
Two ears
Two eyes
Two nostrils

except the mouth. We wouldn't ask for two mouths. Who are you telling?!? No way...I think enough comes out of the one mouth I have...certainly don't need two.

Words that come out of our mouth can either be a "blessing or a cursing"

The fewer words you say, the more blessed you are.

Remeber, the fruit of the tree....well our tongue is the fruit to our tree. Do you have a "fruitful tree"?

This is the one I struggle with.....let the yes be a yes and a no be a no.

For example: Did you take the dog out? No, BUT...I'm learning to stop after NO.

Did you want to come with us to lunch? Yes, BUT.....there it is again..I need to let the BUT go. So, I get to start practing this with my kids.

I'm learning the POWER of WORDS. I'm learning what comes out of our mouth predestins us and where we are going.

"When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise" Prov. 10:19

I'm learning that our tongue has ONE purpose only and that is to PRAISE GOD.

Ok, folks, off to work....hope you have a great weekend.

Oh yeah one more thing I heard the other day...

"What man cannot do, GOD can do...what man can do GOD can undo"

Way to go CARDINALS!!!

Although, they didn't win in scoring......I still BELIEVE they are led by a very strong and faithful quaterback. If you have a moment, read about him. He's a very spiritual leader in his home as well. Since we are "faithful" football fans around here....of course we were tuned in the whole game.

Ok, now for the rest of our Sunday, after church this morning, we went to Luby's..came home finished the laundry and then ate some more. This is going to be a long week, BUT I will start each day with the WORD.

I learned something the other day that I thought was pretty neat.

BIBLE means " Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth". I know...I know...this is probably pretty old to some of ya'll.....but I just heard it the other day and thought it was pretty neat.

We've planned a trip to Ohio this summer (the boys' want to go to the NFL Hall of Fame) and then we will finish it off at Gulf Shores, one of my favorite places to be. Oh yeah...another favorite place of mine, is Pigeon Forge, TN.

Well, I see that I'm starting to ramble...so I will end with...hope you ALL have a great week!!
