This is what you use the wagon that once hauled your kiddo's in:
to move plants from one place to another

This was one of the most-enjoyed holiday weekends that we've had in a long time.

Four days off from work and nothing planned to do. Now that is what I call an awesome weekend.

Now, as I prepare for the work week and the boys' week filled with end of school activities...I'm counting the days down til our summer officially begins.

Although, I don't have a job that allows me to take the summer off, we do look forward to the weekends around here.

Today, we just hung out around the house...played some ball and watched 3 movies:

Taken
Doubt
Marley & Me

Looking forward to reading your blogs later on in the week~~

Off to watch some play-off basketball.

Pam sent me some reeeallly easy linky instructions and I was actually able to do it. Woo-hoo!

It's after 1 in the morning...and I am determined to finish the laundry so I can enjoy my next two days...well sort of....still got bathrooms to clean and mopping..ugh (sigh).

it's been awhile

I'm tired of the rain for right now. I know later this summer, I'll be praying for much needed rain..but for now...I'm loving the smell of the fresh cut grass and being outside.

I've also been "looking" at the different websites for blog designs. WOW! There are so many. Stay tuned..for a new look :)

Some of you already know..but I won a wonderful book from Tonya. I can't wait to start reading it.

Ok, well, I've got to get to the last minute laundry for now....I hope to catch up on some blogs this weekend. Guess what the weather man is saying.....more rain...ugh!

Hoping you all are having a wonderful week so far..hang in there..it's almost Friday

What would you do with all this house?!?

We've been entertaining the thought of buying a bigger home. While on the Internet this evening, looking, I ran across this mansion for sale. $65,000,000...not bad right? Yeah..right! It's 34,819 sq ft..and only 6 bedrooms with 6.8 baths. It might be big enough....what do you think?

What would one do with a home like this? I mean..the governors' mansion is not even this big..heck I don't even think the White House is this big.

I guess you would call this the master bedroom?

And this would be the media room?

And the pool house...

An indoor pool? Yup..gotta have one of those too...

The kitchen..

What would this be? The Living room..

It sits on 119.4 acres and is 4 stories...it falls under single family homes, but seriously, I think they should reconsider for "multi family homes".

Well....like I said...we were entertaining the thought. HA!

Hoping you all have a wonderful day. We went to church, then went out to eat and now we're home with two sick children...fever, sneezing, runny nose & aches..ugh!

Oh how I love these two.....

Although, we've been in the house all day....and they are driving me crazy.....I love these two and am so thankful that I've been given a chance to be their mom.

Hoping you all have a Happy Mother's Day~~

So sad this evening

This is way to close to home....practically in our backyard.

Please pray for this mother as she seeks to get answers to this and is so close to Mother's Day. Although the little boy is younger than ours and we did not know him personally.

Child Dies in
Murder-Suicide
Published : Friday, 08 May 2009, 10:33 AM CDT

GARLAND, Texas - A boy and a man were found dead in a Garland park on Friday morning as the result of a murder-suicide, police said.

A dog walker discovered the bodies at about 7:15 a.m. in One Eleven Ranch Park in the 2100 block of E. Brand Road.

Garland Officer Joe Harn identified them as 37-year-old Matthew Knapp and his 10-year-old son Brody. They had been reported missing, he said.

Investigators found a pistol at the scene and they believe Knapp shot his son and then turned the gun on himself, Harn said.

Friends and neighbors said they are surprised. They said Knapp was a loving husband and father of three children.

and this young boy.....since football is so close to our heart...how this just breaks my heart...kids with such motivation and determination.....

DeSoto Player Partially
Paralyzed
Published : Thursday, 07 May 2009, 8:28 PM CDT

DeSOTO, Texas - A junior varsity football player at DeSoto High School was seriously injured during spring football practice Wednesday night.

According to the school district, 16-year-old sophomore Corey Barner injured his spinal cord during a tackled on the field.

Spokeswoman Beth Trimble said Barner was rushed to the hospital. He was in surgery for about 7 hours Friday so doctors could repair a cervical vertebrae fracture.

DeSoto coaches said Barner -- a defensive back -- was using proper form on the field. His head must have been slightly in the wrong place when he took the hard hit, they said.

Following the surgery, they said he was able to move his hands and fingers, but not his toes.

Barner's family has not released details about his long-term prognosis.

Please lift these families in prayer~~

With Mother's Day around the corner....

Meet my son, Joshua aka, Josh. He's 14 and headed to high school (sigh) and is so excited he can hardly stand it. Because he knows that he's getting close to being at the age he can work & drive.(another sigh)

Josh has a lot of friends (both girls & guys) and has yet to have his first girlfriend...well at least not that I know of. (smile) He tells me that he's too busy..could be..but I think it is because he is shy.

He enjoys school..and it is very important to him to make straight A's. (atta boy)

This young'n lives for football. One of his goals is to play college ball. His coach/trainer doesn't think he will have a problem at all and in fact, states he will have a hard time in deciding who to play for with all the "letters of interest" he suspects he will get. His trainer played for the Redskins, has a son who plays for the Colts and has two younger boys who play college ball....Texas Tech and Baylor...I think he's got an awesome trainer. Do you sense a little excitement here???

He tells me he wants to be an Orthopedic surgeon...he wants to break bones and put them back together. Oh goodness!

Josh loves his Lord & Savior and is always ready to go to church. I sometimes wonder if he will go into vocations....I'm serious...at times, it crosses my mind. Church is very important to him.

I'm very proud of him...can you tell?

But most important of all.......Josh belongs to God and I pray for God's perfect plan for my son. So, as I stand by, believing, hoping, and praying for my son, I trust that God will guide him and in return Josh will always love HIM first.

Birthmother's day

Have you ever heard of this day?

Me? Never. Not until October 13, 1993.

I wonder if the child I gave birth to, thinks about me? Probably not, and really, I would rather her think of her "mother" as the only mother she has. I'm the young lady who chose to give her life....God used me to bless a couple that could not have their own child. Now that at times is hard to digest. To think He chose me...of all the other women out there to go through an emotional roller coaster, tears & more tears. I do belive my prayers have been answered...not for sure when, but I feel healed as of right NOW. I've cried out to God many many many nights asking God why me...why me..why me? Many many times I heard God over and over....one day you will realize the greatest blessing I have used you for. And I in return, will bless you. Yep..I heard this...more than once.

I've asked for updates and received none.

But, I 'm okay with this now. God has reminded me that one day, he will give me an opportunity to meet this "child"..but for now, he has asked me to leave this in HIS hands...and so I do.

Here are a couple of pictures that I copied off of her Myspace:

Dear Elaine,

I hope that Rebecca continues to bless you daily. I hope & pray that she in return continues to bring you happiness and joy and has made your family complete.

I hope that your Mother's Day this Sunday will be a reminder that your prayers along with mine were answered. I'm thankful that we were able to answer each other's prayer. God is amazing and he is so good to us!

Happy Mother's Day,

Love Jennifer
