It's that time of year....when I say bone-crackin football...well..that is what I mean. About to call it a day---and the school nurse is calling me. Hmmm...in a panic I answer..it's never a good feeling when your child's school pops up on the caller id for you cell phone...I answer and on the other end is a lady announcing herself as the school nurse....I'm thinking..wait a minute...it's 4:30..school was out at 3:50...hmmmm does this have to do with football by any chance? Indeed it does Mrs. Serna, Joshua was doing his tackling drills and injurned his arm, and it may even be broken. Broken you say??Hmmm Can you please ask him if it is the same arm he broke last year...sure hold on....uh Mrs.Serna, it is. (about dropped my phone)...ok, I'm on my way. Dad takes him to the ER...and three hours later, his diagnosis is: (drum roll please) not sure about the medical terms...but he's got a bruised tendon and a deep tissue bruise. Doc suggested that we take him to a specialists to make sure the tendon is not ripped or torn. Thank goodness it's not broken. This poor kid has such a passion for football and won't even get to play in his first game. UUGH! BUT, he will continue to stay at practice until 6:00 at night and we will all still go to the games. ( no pics tonight...he was like mom..seriously....kill the pictures). I will spare him tonight...I guess.
