Right Advice

Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Don't judge folks by their relatives.

Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every morning.

If you get to thinking you're a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else's dog around.

It doesn't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

Good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Thou shall not steal

I've always looked at this commandment as simply: Don't take what is not yours.
You know, the physical realm of it.

I'm learning there are other meanings to the commandment.

As Christians, we are called to safeguard property rights, pay our debts, and fulfill any obligations freely contracted.

In economic matters, respect for human dignity requires the practice of the virtues of temperance..justice and solidarity. Any unjustly taking and keeping the property of others is against the 7th commandment for example: deliberate retention of goods lent or of objects lost; business fraud; paying unjust wages; forcing up prices by taking advantage of the ignorance or hardship of another.

In the scriptures, Zacchaeus is a person who came to understand through the power of Jesus that he was to be in "right relationship" with those who were poor and share the earthly goods he had. Jesus blesses Zacchaeus for his pledge:"If I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much" (Luke 19:8).

Those persons who, directly or indirectly have unjustly taken possession of the goods of another, are obliged to make restitution of them.

Did you know the 7th commandment also requires respect for all of creation?

God gives us blessings every minute of every day. When we are disobedient to Him, we are stealing from Him. When creation is destroyed, we are taking from Him.
When we "gossip" and "slander" we are stealing reputations.

As I'm reading and studying God's word and taking these baby steps in relaying the foundation in my life and family, I'm just so amazed how much God loves me, forgives me..but most of all I'm amazed at how He restores me.

Do you have one of these?

I'm in the market for a new washer. If you have a frontloader, do you like it? For the most part, I hear they are wonderful but oooh so expensive. So far, I like that they only take 8 gallons of water vs the 40 gallons from a top loader. I don't need a new dryer just yet, but I figure it will be better if I get the set. My mom has a set and truly loves it....hmmm what to do...what to do.

Well, it almost Friday, thank goodness. I'm starting a project this weekend. I'll take a few pictures and share with ya what I'm doing. (hint...it has to do with sewing.HA!) I love looking at all the handcrafted things on Ebay & Etsy. Especially, all the monongrammed stuff.

More to come.......

God is SO good.

It's late but I just wanted to write a few lines.........I've been coming across some "new" blogs that I have enjoyed reading, as well as my favorites.

I've truly enjoyed praying for a lot of you out there. All of you are gentle reminders of God's love and grace. I've got a lot of thoughts that I would love to blog about, but need some time to post it here. I may stop in day to day and not always leave a comment, but it doesn't mean that I haven't said a prayer for you.

I just want to say thank you for all of your uplifting words you leave behind for me and others to read. It's helping me to change "me". Like I said at the beginning of the year....I'm praying for a Happpy Holy New Year".

Love you all,

Have you ever seen such a thing?

I had to use the heating pad the other day for my back. I got up for a minute and this is what I came back to. It was on medium heat...but appears Oscar seem to be enjoying it.

Well helllllo there!

I can't belive it's been since March 1, that I did my last post. Things are so crazy around here...I barely have time to sit and listen to the quiet these days. Will it ever slow down? The few minutes that I do have, of course I'm reading ya'lls blogs. You know, I never understood the "negative comments" one can leave. Why bother--just don't leave any at all. I hope to be back soon to post some pics and to get back in the groove.

Until then,
