I can't believe the year is almost over.....geez where is time going?
We didn't put up a tree this year, really didn't even put up any decorations. This is about as good as it gets.
Hopefully, this time next year we will be in our new home. Yes, we are looking to buy a little bit bigger, sometime in the Spring. The hardest part is deciding where....just trying to keep the kids in the same school.
Am I the only one that's feeling a little bah'humbug? Maybe if we had some snow or something...just lots of rain and gray skies.

Not sure how I missed your last post...thoughts on it...yup it's not actually His birthday...but I'm still thankful this holiday has developed...always a good opportunity to pray for our church leaders as they decide on Christmas services...those are some of the rare times some step foot in a church... this is my only thought at this moment...nothing deep.
Now for this post....We don't have nearly the "decoration stuff" up that we've done other years...but I could not do without the twinkling lights of our trees. Thankfully our girls like the tradition of decorating the day after Thanksgiving... I've heard lots of people struggling this year..just not in the mood. Perhaps the economy...and other issues of the world have crowded out joy. That joy that dwells in us in spite of any circumstances.
Father, I lift my friend Jennifer up..I'm thankful that she is Your's. Father You know more intimately than even she herself what is going on within her spirit. Help her to draw close to You...cause Your Word to come alive in her and pour out Your joy in spite of all circumstances...that she KNOWS that it is well with her soul. May Your sweet love fill her as she sets her gaze on You. You know what she needs...be her ALL in ALL Father...in Jesus name, AMEN
We have our decorations up...I love the Christmas tree. We put up decorations the day after Thanksgiving, and keep them up until New Years Day/my birthday. I'm always a little sad when we have to take them down.
Hugs! Great big hug! So many seasons in life. So many things to adjust to as changes take place. I had a little "bah humbug" attitude, along with some melancholy, over my first Christmas since having my four sons to be spending one with one of them missing...7,000 miles away all alone. Then I realized that life is not stagnant...always changing...and Christmas is about Jesus.
So I CHOSE to be cheerful and rejoice in the children that are present and rejoice that my son is safe though he is 7,000 miles away and that he is doing something that is exciting and he will never forget.
Praying you too be touched by the Holy Spirit and rejoice this Christmas season that God is always with you. He never changes and He alone will get you through all of your changes...and His love was proved when He took on human form and visited us in human flesh...blessings sweet sister.
I'm glad you got a kick out of my comment on Mo's blog...hahaha! I've never been so embarrassed as I was at that moment! ;-)
Thank you so much for entering the giveaway I'm having. Good luck!
Yes I really think Christians should celebrate Christmas. Maybe some people go a bit overboard with the commerical part . . . I do not like that at all. I think if we could focus on what Christmas really is . . . the celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ then others would realize without this miracle birth there would not be a Christmas in the first place.
This Christmas my home is completely being torned apart because the builder made costly errors and we are stuck with the repair cost/living in a house that will not host Christmas decorations. With my two boys and my husband; we are still enjoying the happiness of God's Love and the company of each other. It's tough sometimes (I too live with three guys) but I would not have it any other way.
Have a Merry Christmas. Since this is my first visit I will be back again . . . I have enjoyed reading your posts.
God bless you.
