poptarts & milk

Eating a strawberry frosted pop tart and drinking a small glass of milk (milk is not my favorite) and enjoying reading many many blogs tonight.

Many thanks for those of you stopping by and praying for Kayleigh. This precious baby has been through so many hurdles and now may be getting closer to her forever home. I pray for this family daily.

This morning after church, we went to Academy Sports store and bought more tennis balls ( did I tell ya we've picked up tennis) and got a few more shorts for the boys'. Later on, Joe and I were sitting outside talking about how we have less than 5 years with our children being home. Josh talks daily about playing football for college and Jacob talks about not going to college, just getting a job. (sigh).
We started talking about how we spend so much money on our children...and how we wonder if they take what we buy them for granted. We are sending Josh to a personal football trainer 4 days a week, we've signed him up for summer school so he can get ahead so his Senior year won't be as stressful..which we have to pay for, he also needs new gear for football...oh yeah..he wants to go shopping for "summer" clothes and now Jacob tells us he wants to try out for track next year. What?!? Does it ever end???? I'm hoping Josh will be able to get a job next summer.
I would love to go shopping for ME....I would like to buy new pillows and a rug for the living room....oh glory...does it ever end?!?!?

I remind myself daily...that I'm thankful for what I have and feel bad for "wanting".
Is it okay to want? I'm so glad that my Lord & Savior knows me and supplies us for what we need....everyday. God is so good to me!

Guess I'm just rambling....see what eating pop tarts at 11:30 at night will do to your mind?

Hoping you all have a wonderful Monday~~~

I have LOTS of wants. :) It is amazing how costly kids can be, money seemed to fly out the door all the time during high school. Those 5 years will go REALLY FAST, so hang on! :o) It seemed like the high school years FLEW BY and now our girls are gone. We laugh that there always seems to be "stuff" that isn't on our want list that comes up straight time. My hubby says to just be thankful that we have what we need. True but not always fun. :)

Yep, those 5 years will fly by! I can't believe we have one boy currently in his third year of college, and our "baby" boy will be heading to college this Fall.

I'm hoping Jacob will change his mind about college. Perhaps he would compromise, starting at a community college with a few courses. He may find that he enjoys it! I just know that in today's world, it's hard enough to find a job WITH a college degree! So I'll be praying with you for Jacob. :o)

Blessings...

Oh sweetie...quit waiting for it to end! LOL! I have been so much more content when I realized that it will never end and that is okay. That is life. Full of ups and downs! You will have lots more money when they are gone, right now you are investing in the kingdom. God sees. He knows your heart. He understands your sacrifice and He has forgiven your moments of complaining and coveting! He wants us to take it all to Him! Then He can fill us up with His goodness and rid us of our ick! Two of my sons may not go to college. That is okay. God knows what He wants them to do and they may or may not need college. But I get it. It took me awhile to accept it though. God is good!

Thanks for your comment on my blog post today. And wish I had great recipes to hand over to you. I shop at discount grocery stores and try to keep my weekly shopping bill to 120-130 dollars. That is food only. When we have to buy clothes and non food items it can go higher for sure! I do not make elaborate meals because of it. I buy lots of snacky food to fill them up after I have tried to get in the nutrition...We do usually eat spaghetti once a week as it is cheap and fills them up well! And I do limit them on portions sometimes as it is simply not available to have more!

Time surely does fly by quickly. My youngest is 13 and I know that we only have 6 years left and they will all be on their way somewhere...I have adjusted to the oldest being gone. God gives grace. Enjoy them. Sorry this comment is so long. I should have e-mailed you! Blessings and hugs!

Hi Jennifer, thanks for commenting on my blog about the little quote I left on Kayleigh's blog. I love it too and it is so easy to forget when things are down. But I suppose that is what is so like us unperfect beings is when things are down don't we also LOOK up? When things are great, we are not always looking up as we should continue to do so. But the saying is so perfect for each of us because His plan for us is always there. Take care!

"When you are down to nothing, God is up to something."

I am so glad to meet you : ). Thanks for coming over to say hi! I LOVE your picture in your blog header. How cute is your doggy? Oh my goodness. I fear my child getting bigger and biggerr every day too. It scares me! Your boys look wonderful! I love tennis. I am hoping to start playing again soon. I just have to find a partner that doesn't mind playing with someone terrible!
